Splittability and 1-amalgamability of permutation classes

A permutation class CC is splittable if it is contained in a merge of two of its proper subclasses, and it is 1-amalgamable if given two permutations σ\sigma and τ\tau in CC, each with a marked element, we can find a permutation π\pi in CC containing both σ\sigma and τ\tau such that the two marked elements coincide. It was previously shown that unsplittability implies 1-amalgamability. We prove that unsplittability and 1-amalgamability are not equivalent properties of permutation classes by showing that the class Av(1423,1342)Av(1423, 1342) is both splittable and 1-amalgamable. Our construction is based on the concept of LR-inflations, which we introduce here and which may be of independent interest.Comment: 17 pages, 7 figure

The frequency of falls in children judo training

    Get PDF
Purpose: Falling techniques are inseparable part of youth judo training. Falling techniques are related to avoiding injuries exercises (Nauta et al., 2013). There is not good evidence about the ratio of falling during the training in children. Methods: 26 children (age 8.88±1.88) were video recorded on ten training sessions for further indirect observation and performance analysis. Results: Research protocol consisted from recording falls and falling techniques (Reguli et al., 2015) in warming up, combat games, falling techniques, throwing techniques and free fighting (randori) part of the training session. While children were taught almost exclusively forward slapping roll, backward slapping roll and sideward direct slapping fall, in other parts of training also other types of falling, as forward fall on knees, naturally occurred. Conclusions: Judo coaches should stress also on teaching unorthodox falls adding to standard judo curriculum (Koshida et al., 2014). Various falling games to teach children safe falling in different conditions should be incorporated into judo training. Further research to gain more data from groups of different age in various combat and non-combat sports is needed

Purpose. Self-defence training could enhance seniors´ defensive skills and fitness. There is lack of evidence about fear and concerns of seniors participating in the self-defence course. Methods. 18 elderly persons (16 female, 1 male; age 66.2, SD=5.86) participated in the self-defence course lasting 8 training units (each unit 60 minutes). Standardized tool for fear of crime and victimization analysis previously used in Euro-Justis project in the Czech Republic (2011) was used in pretest and posttest. Results. We explored the highest fear of crime by participants in their residence area after dark (mean=2,77; median=3; SD=0,80), lower fear at the night in their homes (mean=2,29; median=2; SD=0,75) and in their residence area at the daytime (mean=2,00; median=2; SD=0,77) at the beginning of the course. We noticed certain decrease of fear of crime after the intervention. Participant were less afraid of crime in their residence area after dark (mean=2,38; median=2; SD=0,77), they felt lower fear of crime at the night in their homes (mean=2,00; median=2; SD=0,48) and in their residence area at the daytime (mean=1,82; median=2; SD=0,63). Conclusions. The approach to self-defence teaching for elderly should be focused not just on the motor development, but also on their emotional state, fear of crime, perception of dangerousness of diverse situations and total wellbeing. Fear of crime analysis can contribute to create tailor made structure of the self-defence course for specific groups of citizens

Analysis of the Development of the CDU’s Perception of National Identity Between 1990 and 2009

The paper aims to explain the development of the perception of national identity of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU), the strongest German political party in the past few decades. The paper focuses on election manifestos for the 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2005, and 2009 elections. For this purpose, each manifesto is examined according to up to five analytical categories – such as values, nation, Europe, threats, and society. These categories explore the party’s perception in a wider context instead of focusing only on direct  references to national identity. The analysed period was divided into three phases with an emphasis on the internal crisis between the years 1998 and 2002. The crisis influenced policy priorities; therefore the perceptions of elements belonging to national identity were changed in order i) to gain victory in the general elections in 2002 and 2005, and ii) to reflect properly the state of German society. Therefore, significant policy shifts were made. These policy changes show how the party successfully integrated societal demands and preferences over the past decade. Thank to this, the CDU incorporated both conservative and liberal elements. This is evident in the case of incorporating liberal elements such as homosexual partnerships while, at the same time, actively stressing the importance of defending national interests. The paper aims to explain the development of the perception of national identity of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU), the strongest German political party in the past few decades. katedra: KIN; rozsah: 48 s., 4 s. přílohThis bachelor thesis is focused on linking project management with the utility of information technology for projects from the operational programs in The field of human resources that have been in the past three years announced by regional authorities work from the Operational program Human Resources Development and follow-up Operational program Human Resources and Employment. Based on the analysis of the current state of IT in project management through an investigation carried out by the Company for project management to demonstrate that some form of project management including the use of software used to aid implementation of the vast majority of projects in the field of Human Resources Development. So it has been made for the use of project management, an investigation in society ATTEST, which has already implemented several large projects in the field of Human Resources Development. The definition of these processes of project management is then followed by supporting information technology in managing projects in the field of Human Resources Development and the possible using of outsourcing in these projects. The output of this work is describing the procedures for the use of information technologies to support project management in the field of Human Resources Development, which may serve as general guidance for the realization of projects for another developers in the Czech Republic.

NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF A SINGLE RING INFILTRATION EXPERIMENT WITH hp-ADAPTIVE SPACE-TIME DISCONTINUOUS GALERKIN METHOD

    Get PDF
We present a novel hp-adaptive space-time discontinuous Galerkin (hp-STDG) method for the numerical solution of the nonstationary Richards equation equipped with Dirichlet, Neumann and seepage face boundary conditions. The hp-STDG method presented in this paper is a generalization of a hp-STDG method which was developed for time dependent non-linear convective-diffusive problems. We describe the method and the single ring experiment, and then we present a numerical experiment which clearly demonstrates the superiority of the hp-STDG method over a discontinuous Galerkin method based on a static fine mesh
